In cases of V pattern wide angle exotropia 45 PD or more with inferior oblique overaction. Lateral rectus muscles on both sides were recessed to the distal end of the inferior oblique that underwent myotomy. The angle of squint was assessed before and after the procedure in cardinal directions of the gaze.
