Home > Get in the Game: Contact Your Members of Congress and Urge Action to Ease the Transition to ICD-10
Thursday, October 1, 2015 is the mandated transition date to ICD-10. While there has been significant action to prepare for the transition, ASCRS•ASOA and others in the medical community remain concerned the transition may cause major disruptions in the healthcare industry, and potentially impact physician reimbursements.
Contact your Representative and Senators and ask them to work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to take steps to mitigate the potential impacts of the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10.
ASCRS•ASOA and others in the medical community are recommending a grace period after the transition, during which claims would not be rejected solely due to coding errors, and patient care would not be interrupted.
