Module 1

Module 1: Comprehensive Corneal Refractive Surgery in 2022: The Patient Workup, Surgery, and Postoperative Considerations

In this module, we will discuss important considerations and guidelines as to who are the most ideal patients for three keratorefractive surgeries: LASIK, PRK, and SMILE. Additionally, the advantages and disadvantages of each, including preoperative pearls, surgical technique and tips, and postoperative care, will be reviewed. This session will explore when to consider wavefront-optimized, wavefront-guided, and topography-guided photoablation. Pearls on both primary laser vision patients and fine-tuning premium implant surgeries with laser vision correction will also be taught.
