The hyaloid vasculature normally regresses by birth. However, in unusual cases the hyaloid artery can persist beyond fetal life and cause vascularization of the crystalline lens. This can lead to visual axis obscuration and subsequently cataract. We describe various scenarios with vascularised lens and the management options for the same to obtain a favorable visual outcome.
