Iris prolapse during cataract surgery can result in result in significant visual compromise. Iris prolapse is the result of a sequential triad of elements - a floppy iris, wound gape and rapid outflow (Hart's Triad). Control any element of the triad completely and iris prolapse cannot occur. If iris prolapse occurs, it can be reversed without causing iris damage using no touch iris repositioning.
