This surgical video presents the Contact Lens Shell Technique (CLST) for protecting the corneal endothelium during phacoemulsification in high-risk cataracts (mature, small pupil, shallow AC, hard). A soft contact lens disc shields against ultrasound, turbulence, and trauma, reducing cell loss and PBK. CLST is simple, reproducible, and cost-effective for resource-limited settings.
