The IOL was positioned centrally beneath the iris prosthesis on a sterile surgical tray. Using a 27G needle, the haptics of the IOL were passed through the artificial iris and externalized on its anterior surface. The complex was subsequently secured intraocularly by fixing the IOL haptics via the flanged intrascleral haptic fixation technique.
