Manual ECCE is uncommon in the US but remains a critical technique for extremely dense cataracts. Our film showcases a very dense cataract manual ECCE. A temporal incision is used for the capsuleorhexis and to assess lens density. An 8-9mm wide superior scleral tunnel is created. Two anterior capsule radial relaxing incisions allow extraction of the nucleus between a lens loop and IOL manipulator.
