If pterygium surgery is not performed correctly, then there is significant risk for recurrence. In this film, we show a simple technique for pterygium excision and conjunctival autograft that can be easily learned by residents. This involves excision of pterygium head, limited excision of tenon tissue, and a small conjunctival autograft. Recurrence rate after this technique has been very low.
