We present an uncommonly used technique for addressing a fibrotic anterior capsular plaque in a steroid-induced cataract in a monocular patient with Down syndrome. The plaque was firmly adhered to the underlying cortex. Blunt dissection was performed to lyse the adhesions between the capsular plaque and cortex. This enabled us to safely perform the capsulorrhexis and complete the case.
