After completion of a CCC, heminuclear division is created with either an akahoshi prechopper or a standard groove and crack. Next the connor wand goes under the heminucleus and above the posterior capsule while the phaco tip presses down on the nucleus. The connor wand and phaco tip meet together, fracturing the nucleus. The second hemi nucleus is fractured in a similar technique.
