ASCRS 2026–27 Leadership
ASCRS is excited to announce the leadership on the 2026–27 ASCRS Executive Board, which became effective at the 2026 ASCRS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Kevin Miller, MD, assumed the position of ASCRS President, Cathleen McCabe, MD, the position of Vice President, Nicole Fram, MD, Treasurer, and Sumit “Sam” Garg, MD, Secretary. Additionally, Zaina Al-Mohtaseb, MD, assumed the position of ASCRS Foundation Chair, and Mitchell Weikert, MD, assumed the role of EyeWorld Chief Medical Editor. A Successful 2026 Annual Meeting
Thank you to the faculty, attendees, exhibitors, and volunteers who joined us in Washington, D.C., for the 2026 ASCRS Annual Meeting. The last several days have featured dozens of sessions, covering topics across anterior segment surgery. We hope you were able to take in the many opportunities to learn and connect. The insights gained and connections made here don’t end when the meeting ends—they carry into practices and into the year ahead.

2026 ASCRS Foundation Resident Excellence Award winners
ASCRS was founded by young, enterprising ophthalmologists, and the ASCRS Foundation's Resident Excellence Awards carry on and honor that tradition. Each year, the ASCRS Foundation makes 10 awards to enable ophthalmology residents exhibiting exemplary performance to attend the ASCRS Annual Meeting. The categories for consideration include research, patient care, leadership, and education.
This year's winners are Joshua Ong, MD, Whitney Sambhariya, MD, PhD, Ali Salimi, MD, MSc, Cody Lo, MD, Dennis Akrobetu, MD, Hazem Mousa, MD, Ayush Parikh, MD, Ailin (Irene) Song, MD, MHSc, Victoria Wang, MD, and Junsang Cho, MD.
