Nominations for ASCRS Secretary Due Saturday
Nominations for 2024 ASCRS Secretary, a position on the ASCRS Executive Board with succession responsibilities, including Treasurer, Incoming President, and ultimately 2027 President, are due by Saturday, July 15.
To nominate an ophthalmologist for the position of Secretary, please send an email to [email protected], describing how the nominee meets the following criteria: a member in good standing/service to ASCRS, contributions to scholarly research, presentations at national/international meetings, teaching activities, leadership qualities, clinical/surgical expertise and reputation, and industry/corporate relations/collaborations. A CV can be included with nominations.

The countdown is on for the ASCRS Summer Meeting—A Taste of ASCRS in Nashville, Tennessee, August 11–13.

New ASCRS Grand Rounds and a Retina/Cataract Discussion
ASCRS has two new online resources available for members!
1) The latest installment of ASCRS Grand Rounds is available to watch now. This episode, presented by the Dean McGee Eye Institute, covers two interesting cases: 1) IOL tilt with 3-piece lens following Yamane scleral fixation and 2) Managing anisometropia after Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty.
2) The ASCRS Retina Committee and the Challenging/Complicated Cataract Surgery Subcommittee present “Collaboration in Complex Cataract Cases.” Multi-specialty surgeons— Kourtney Houser, MD, Sumitra Khandelwal, MD, Lisa Olmos de Koo, MD, Ghassan Ghorayeb, MD, and Michael Klufas, MD—review anterior segment cases with retina pathology or history of retina surgery.
These resources are each approved for 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.
