National Sight Week: Volunteer, Pledge, Share

Welcome to the 7th annual ASCRS Foundation National Sight Week! Running October 9–15, this week celebrates the sight-restoring work of volunteer surgeons and practices that participate in the Foundation’s Operation Sight program.

You have the power to make an incredible impact in your community! Join your colleagues in celebrating National Sight Week by:

  • Registering to volunteer
  • Pledging to volunteer a surgery within 6 months
  • Sharing your current volunteer impact with the Foundation to be featured on our social media channels (Email with your info [email protected])
  • Raising program awareness by sharing @ascrsfoundation posts during National Sight Week or tag us in your own!

Volunteers will be featured on the 2022 Operation Sight Volunteer Recognitionpage, which celebrates the surgeons and practices providing sight in their communities year round!

EyeWorld Spotlight

While some studies have found that femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery does not offer a significant benefit over traditional phaco, many surgeons still find it helpful in the setting of certain comorbidities. For Robert Noecker, MD, one of these is glaucoma.
