2023 ASCRS Annual Meeting Call for Submissions

Have you submitted an abstract for a course, paper, poster, or film for research, a technique, a case series, etc., that you want to showcase at the 2023 ASCRS Annual Meeting? ASCRS continues to accept submissions for the meeting, which will take place May 5–8 in San Diego, California!

Claim Credit for ASCRS Meetings with New Form

Whether you attended the most recent ASCRS Summer Meeting or if you still haven’t claimed credit from the ASCRS Annual Meeting several months ago, did you know that ASCRS has a new form to expedite credit claims?

To claim credit for any previous ASCRS meeting you can now complete the ASCRS CME Credit Request Form. This form allows you to submit required information to ASCRS about the event(s) for which you would like to claim credit.

Log in with your ASCRS ID (your email address) and password to view your credit records and CME certificates within your personalized ASCRS CME Transcript before filing a claim for CME credit.

Focus on Waste Within the Healthcare Sector

The cover of the September issue of JCRS showcases the word ‘WASTE’ in capital letters formed from garbage bags. Thomas Kohnen, MD, PhD, FEBO, co-editor of JCRS, writes in a letter from the editor that “given the global volume of cataract surgical procedures, the environmental footprint of our field must be considered.”

One resource Dr. Kohnen points to in his editorial is the newly formed EyeSustain, which seeks to provide information and education on the topic of sustainability within ophthalmology. EyeSustain was introduced at the 2022 ASCRS Annual Meeting as a global coalition of eye societies and ophthalmologists collaborating to make ophthalmic care and surgery more sustainable.
