We present a case of three-piece IOL haptic detachment during attempted sulcus placement. Rather than perform an IOL exchange, the free haptic was reinserted intracamerally, allowing for successful implantation of the original IOL. Using this procedure, we propose both a haptic substitution and a modified Yamane fixation methodology.
