Multifocal and toric intraocular lenses require precise centration and alignment, which can be compromised by capsular rupture. If only the anterior capsule is ruptured, proper positioning is easier. In posterior capsule rupture, a posterior capsulorhexis from the tear or a change in lens selection is advised.
